Travels with the Brenners & Lake Tahoe

On Wednesday, July 1 we were in Novato, California to celebrate my cousin's advancement in the Coast Guard. (See the previous post for more details about that.) Below is a picture of Mindy after the ceremony. We are all so proud of her!

Here is Mindy's proud mom, my aunt Mary (mom's sister) with Pookie. It seems Pookie is spoiled not only by us but also by everyone in our family.

Here's the whole gang when we went to dinner to celebrate Mindy's promotion. The whole gang included Jon, Uncle Fred, Uncle John, Aunt Susan, Cousin Courtney, Cousin Stephanie, Mindy's friend Brandon, Mindy, Aunt Mary and me.

Here's me and Mindy.....

We went to the San Fransisco Museum of Modern Art the next day and had a wonderful time learning about all sorts of art. While walking around the city we saw all sorts of art including this funny piece that Jon really liked.

While in Novato we also went exploring wine country. We went through Sonoma County one day and Napa Valley the next. Here we are showing off our wine purchase.
We stayed with our family through the 4th and had a lovely time visiting with all of them.

Today we spent the day at Lake Tahoe. We lounged on the beach and then had a lovely dinner with a beautiful view of the lake. The lake is just the most beautiful blue!
Here we are enjoying the sunset.

Tomorrow we are on our way to Crater Lake. We think at this rate we should be in Virginia by next year! (Just kidding....maybe.)

It looks like you guys are having a great time. Tahoe is very beautiful. I grew up about 75 miles west of there, we didn't go a lot but the times we did go was very enjoyable.

We miss you guys!!! How was your Fourth of July??? We had a great time, we took our traditional bike ride along the beach and then to Mission Beach to Chris O'Malley's...stayed for a couple of hours and then back home for more bbq....and of course fire works!!

Talk to you later,

karen
